FAFSA Made Easy

FAFSA…five little letters that all college students and their parents have or will come to know very well. Five letters that are a BIG component of receiving federal financial assistance for college and represent a critical pathway for qualifying for other forms of student aid at most institutions of higher education. Five letters that are yet still ignored by so many students who should be pursuing or renewing their ability to qualify for benefits ASAP.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form that can be prepared annually by current and prospective college students in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid for college or graduate school. While the online FAFSA form must be submitted by the federal deadline of June 30, 2020, too many students who need financial assistance the most wait too long. In Illinois, the FAFSA application process for Fiscal Year 2019-20 opened on October 1, 2018 and awards are made until the funds are depleted.

They have continually revamped and improved the website, streamlined the process, and effectively communicated policy and procedural changes. There’s even an entire page dedicated to helping parents fill out FAFSA for children.

Its newest creation is a mobile application called myStudentAid Mobile App that is available from both the Apple App. Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). In addition to accessibility from all devices, it will provide the ability to customize the experience based on a specific role also makes it easier for students and parents to understand and complete the form.
